How do I use the palette generator?+
Press the spacebar or tap 'Generate' to create a new random palette. Click any color to see its details. Lock colors you like by clicking the lock icon, then generate again — locked colors stay while others change.
What are color harmonies?+
Color harmonies are combinations based on color theory. Analogous uses neighboring hues, complementary uses opposite hues, triadic uses three evenly-spaced hues, and monochromatic uses one hue with varying lightness.
Can I export my palette?+
Yes. Use the Export section to copy your palette as HEX codes, RGB values, CSS custom properties, or SCSS variables.
How many colors can I have in a palette?+
You can generate palettes with 3 to 7 colors. Most design systems use 5 colors: a primary, secondary, accent, and two neutrals.
